Jared Smith - N7SMI
Jared (N7SMI) was licensed in 2011 and is relatively new to DXing, but in that short time has worked over 240 DXCC entities, earned several DXing awards, and has developed a passion for DXing. Since working his first DXpedition on the air, he has dreamed of working through the pileups in some exotic location. TX7G in Marquesas is sure to fulfill those dreams. Jared is an active contester, chaser of DX, and loves to travel. He plans on activating a new much-desired entity each year for the next several years.
Jared will operate SSB and RTTY and is coordinating logistics and licensing for TX7G. He also designed and administers this web site. He greatly appreciates the insights and education he is gaining from this experience of a lifetime.
Grant Saviers - KZ1W
First licensed in 1957, Grant moved to Redmond, WA in 2011 and and after many years off the air is building a contest station. He recently hosted a QRO multi-multi operation in the 7th Area QSO Party. Grant and Rob N7QT were TX5D in the Australs, October 2013 and had 18,000+ QSOs.
Grant is a regular SSB and occasional RTTY contester and is now working on his 5 band DXCC from WWA, 80m remains as the challenge.
Keith Witney - VE7KW
First licensed in 1964 as VE4EI, Keith holds VE7MID and VE7KW and has operated as RA/VE7MID, VE7MID/VE2, A25KW (CW and SSB), 7P8KW (7P8D CW & RTTY), 3DA0ET, and PJ2/VE7KW (SSB). The 7P8D and 3DA0ET multi-two CQ WW CW efforts resulted in new zone 38 records each year. Keith will also be part of 7QAA in Malawi next year.
Keith has a modest home station, but has had the privilege of being allowed to participate at several contest stations. Keith is a multi-mode op, but prefers CW. A retired electrical engineer, Keith likes designing low band antenna systems and messing with technology in general. He also enjoys whitewater kayaking, and has used kayaking as well as amateur radio to justify his foreign travel.
